Unfortunately this year we won’t be going to as many events as we usually would, however, if you do manage to go meet some friends and family, be it going out for dinner or even for your Christmas eve and Christmas day plans..here are some ways you can up your makeup game to suit the festive season and feel like your best Christmas self!
The Gold Eye
Gold always looks great at Christmas! A great way to change up your makeup look to suit the festive season is to incorporate more gold and your eye makeup is a great place to start. Start by using a gold eye liner from the lid to the lash line as well as around the corner of the eyes and the lower lash line. For the eyelid place a warm yellow colour on to the base of your eyelid and follow with windscreen wiper motions in the crease. Grab a gold eyeshadow of your choice and lightly blend in to the corners of your eyes. Viola! You are Christmas party ready.
The Red Lip
This goes perfectly with the gold eyeshadow look. Nothing screams Christmas quite like the colour red. If you are more prone to choosing nude colours for your lips this is the perfect opportunity to be a little bold and go for a red colour for a change. Start by lining your lip with a light red lipliner and follow up with a deeper red lipstick. Add a clear gloss for the perfect Christmas look.
Who doesn’t love sparkles at Christmas time? Start by adding a cream/beige colour to your crease using wind screen wiper motions. Follow up by lightly adding a light brown/orange to the corners. Choose a sparkly eyeshadow that you like (they all look good this time of year!) Starting in the inner corner of your eye add it to your lid, cover half of your lid with it and bring it down to the side of your eye (the side near your nose.) Finally add a bit of brown or a deep gold to the outer corners, blend it all together and you are all ready to rock!
Say Hello to Blush
Blush is your best friend at Christmas and goes really well with a red lipstick look. A little goes a long way with blush. Choose a red toned blush that suits your skin tone and you’ll be Christmas part ready in no time!
Sparkly Rose Gold Eye
If you are more a fan of pink then gold or browns then a sparkly rose gold eye is the one for you! You’ve still got the sparkle with this look so it is still perfect for Christmas! Start by using a white/pale cream eyeshadow in the crease and on the base of the eyelid. Dab a pale pink eyeshadow on to the outer corners. Using a sparkly pale pink lightly add it to the inner corners of your eyes to cover half the crease. Bring it down to the inner corners by the nose to open up your eyes. Get a deep pink colour and blend it in to the outer corners. Top off with one more coat of the sparkly pale pink. If you want to go the extra mile this look looks great finished off with winged eyeliner!
