‘The Half of It’ Is Going To Be Your New Fav YA Movie!

Netflix are blessing us with another great teen rom-com! And it couldn’t come at a better time!
The Half of It gives a sweet LGBTQ twist to the run-of-the mill teen romance. If Love Simon and To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before had a movie baby, this would be it!

Shy, straight-A student Ellie is hired by sweet but inarticulate jock Paul, who needs help winning over a popular girl. But their new and unlikely friendship gets complicated when Ellie discovers she has feelings for the same girl.

The Half of It seems to have it all; a high-school movie with an LGBTQ+ romance, a movie for young people focusing on the importance of friendship and how platonic love is just as important as romantic love. AND shout-out for the guy that realises Ellie likes Aster too, and instead of getting upset or leaving her, he stands up for her!
The Half of It just looks really endearing and lovely. It also looks like a genuinely good movie, because let’s be honest not all teen movies are good!
