How To Add A Subtle Pop of Colour To Your Wardrobe

Aimee Walsh

If you’re like me and your wardrobe is 50 shades of neutral, adding pops of colour to your wardrobe can leave us feeling a little apprehensive. But adding colour doesn’t have to mean we need to parade around in neon brights and bold patterns, it can be as easy as adding a subtle splash of colour with accessories, such as bags and shoes and jewellery, or in a statement piece. Adding colour can be a big mood-booster too, especially when we’re not blessed with a consistent hot summer. It can really finish off a look, and make an outfit look more put together. We’ve picked out our favourite pieces to take your outfit from bland to glam.

Shoes

I live by the statement that a girl can never own too many pairs of shoes, and what better way to inject some life into that all black and white shoe collection than to get your hands on some new bright pairs.

Bags

Bags are another great accessory to add some vibrance to your outfits. They’re not only practical for holding pretty much our entire make up collection, but they can also make an an-all black or white outfit stand out.

Jewellery

While a lot of us may have a tendency to stick to gold or silver jewellery, adding a subtle pop of colour with a pair of earrings or a necklace is an easy way to add a colourful edge to any outfit.

Statement pieces

For the more brave-hearted, a statement piece such as a colourful blazer can be paired with an all-black or neutral outfit for a bold look. By keeping the rest of your outfit toned-down, you can let the statement-piece do all the talking, while not be able to be seen from space.
