Ways To Celebrate Valentine’s Day This Year

This year Valentine’s Day will be different, especially for those who would usually spend the day together but sadly due to the pandemic they cannot. However, you can still enjoy the day despite the change of scenery just take a little time to plan and prepare a few treats and surprises.
Here’s some fun ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year…
Write them a letter
No one can deny the pure joy they feel when receiving a letter in the post. Why not write your loved one a letter to show them how much they mean to you?
Even if you do not have much to say at the moment, the sentiment itself will mean the world to your significant other. The time and effort you put in to writing that letter is the best gift they can ask for. At any time they can look back at this letter and remember the crazy antics of the coronavirus in a tangible form.
If you still can’t find the right words to express your feelings, there are lots of famous love letters out there so with a little research you are sure to find some inspiration.
Get crafty
Have your own virtual craft session on zoom. Pick out something that you always wanted to make and set your partner the challenge of following along with you. You will find this is great fun to do and what’s more, you have made something productive with your time. This is a wonderful way to relax while boosting morale. If you’re stuck for ideas simply look up a craft on the internet, watch a video on YouTube or join an online class.
Play a few games
Feeling a bit competitive? Never fear! There is a solution for you. Play a virtual game. Many games such as chess or draughts have been adapted so that you can easily play online with your date as well as card games such as Uno. Are you a word whizz? Try Scrabble. Are you an excellent detective? Try Guess Who. Maybe you could even try a multitude of different game and create a tournament. Adopt a winner’s mind-set and good luck!
Watch a movie
Watching a movie is great way to enjoy your time together. Whatever you are in the mood for, you are sure to find a film to match it. Would you rather an action film or comedy? Romantic or horror. It’s up to you. The possibilities are endless. Agreeing what to watch may be the hardest decision so it might be wise to have both of you come up with a short list of say 3 films and then let the negotiations begin. Once you have chosen a movie, sit back, relax and enjoy.
Teleparty is a great way to synchronise films across various streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu. You can discuss the film throughout while having a great time. The closest virtual way to get together no matter where you are both located.
Follow a recipe
Give you and your date a chance to connect by following a recipe together. You could bake a cake, cook up a stir-fry or go for a more nostalgic recipe that means something to both of you. There are millions of recipes available on the internet, so if you are in the mood to try something new just get searching.
However if you favour tradition and would rather go for a family recipe why not introduce your significant other to this very dish. Give the recipe in advance so that all ingredients are on hand and away you go. You can enjoy what you have prepared together while catching up.
