Self-care is becoming a popular topic across social media and we are so here for it! It is so important to take time for yourself and prioritise your needs over what others need of you. Take care of yourself so that you can be the best version of you.

Self-care is more than just face masks and cups of tea however, there are a number of different ways to practice self-care. One of those ways is self-care apps. There really is an app for everything! There are a whole host of them available on both the iphone app store and google store on android. While practicing self-care might feel good in the moment, many people aren’t fully aware of just how beneficial self-care is for your mental health, even days and hours after the moment.

Self-care apps are a bit of an underdog in the world of self-care but we hope that it is only a matter of time before people realise their true benefits! If you are looking for a new way to practice a bit of self-care why not give a self-care app a try. Get ready to feel nice and refreshed…

What are self-care apps?

It’s weird to think of our smart phones benefitting us mentally but it is the reality of the life we live now a days. Our whole lives are on our phones. Self-care apps range from meditation apps, apps that act as journals to reflect on your day and express gratitude. There are a large number of them out there, each a little different. How do apps help our mental health?

Self-care is all about taking time to do things for you to help you relax from the pressures of daily life. It is a way of checking in with yourself to understand how it is you are truly feeling and encourages you to put yourself first in a world where we are constantly working and doing things for other people. Surely you would want to put your phone down when practicing self-care right? Self-care apps are actually a great way of allowing you to pause for a minute and make self-care really accessible, regardless of where you are.

Whether it is listing three things you are grateful for before you go to bed, practicing mediation or setting reminders to do things that benefit your over-all wellbeing, self-care apps pose a lot of positive benefits for your mental health.
