Amazon’s New YA Show ‘The Wilds’ Looks Really Good
In recent years Netflix have become known for their excellent teen content. From original shows like the acclaimed Sex Education to book adaptions like To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before and The Kissing Booth.
But it looks like Netflix might want to watch out because Amazon Prime Video is coming for the YA crown, hard.
Yep, Amazon is dipping it’s toes in the YA genre with their original TV show The Wilds. Think Lost meets The Hunger Games.
What’s The Wilds About?
A group of teen girls from different backgrounds must fight for survival after a plane crash strands them on a deserted island. The castaways both clash and bond as they learn more about each other, the secrets they keep, and the traumas they’ve all endured. There’s just one twist to this thrilling drama… these girls did not end up on this island by accident.
Yep, there’s one almighty twist to the series. The trailer ends with a mum tearfully saying, “Sometimes I feel guilty that we lied to her,” before a voice reassures her, “You did that to save her.”
