Big news, besties: Prime Video has officially confirmed that The Summer I Turned Pretty isn’t done with us just yet. After three seasons of chaos, first loves, messy family drama, and THAT love triangle, Belly’s story will wrap up with a feature film written and directed by Jenny Han herself.
The surprise announcement dropped at the red carpet for the Season 3 finale in Paris last night, and honestly, Cousins Beach girlies everywhere are screaming.
Jenny Han said: “There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due.” So yep, grab your sunscreen, because Cousins isn’t finished with us.

Since it premiered back in 2022, The Summer I Turned Pretty has been the show of the summer. From the songs that broke us (hi, Taylor Swift’s This Love), to the team Conrad vs. team Jeremiah wars, it’s been the Gen Z coming-of-age series. Season 3 alone pulled in 25 million viewers globally in just one week—so of course Prime Video weren’t going to let us go without one last chapter.
The movie doesn’t have a release date yet, but Jenny Han is back at the helm, which makes us feel safe that the ending will do the books and the characters justice.
