Best Skin Care Products: How To Get Glowing Skin in 2020

Veronica Murphy

Looking to get the best skin possible in 2020? According to writer, Veronica Murphy, these are  the best skin care products to try…

The Must Have Cleanser

Before you can even begin to think about layering on skincare it’s super important that you ensure your skin is squeaky clean.
This Liz Earle cleanser has been one of my favs for a long time. It’s creamy texture enriched with cocoa butter gives your skin the moisture it needs while removing all that unwanted makeup and dirt from your face to leave you feeling fresh as a daisy again. It is also suitable on the eyes and works a dream on stubborn mascara! Better again, it comes with not one but two cotton face cloths which not only gently exfoliate your skin to leave it looking brighter, but it means better for the environment and less cotton pads in the bin.

The Must Have Moisturizer

I stumbled across this product about a year and a half ago and I haven’t looked back since. The product is aimed at ‘dull, tired and grumpy skin’ (eh, hello!) and works to give your skin that radiant glow even after a not-so-great night’s sleep. It’s the one product I actually look forward to applying every morning and night, and even with lathering it all over my face twice a day it still lasts an impressive amount of time. If the price point of only €25 doesn’t make you fall for the product, the amazing citrus scent will. Heavenly!

The Must Have Spot Treatment

Breakouts happen to us all, and while it is a completely normal thing it doesn’t get any easier when you see Mount Vesuvius forming on your forehead. This is where this little gem steps in. This gel-like formula works to target spots, reduce breakouts  AND minimise pores. And yes, it actually works. It can be used all over your face morning and night, however I usually focus the product on my problem areas, such as my chin and my nose, once I have cleansed my face before bed. I noticed it helps a lot with the redness of up and coming pesky spots, but it mainly acts as a preventative method. It has quickly become one of my go-to skincare products and it’s travel-friendly size means I never go anywhere without it!

The Must Have Facial Mist

Said to soothe and hydrate your dry skin, this face mist is divine. It comes in different scents such as strawberry, mint, rose and mandarin, but the coconut scent is a clear winner. I never quite knew just how much I needed a face mist in my life but this product quickly became a staple. It is makeup friendly too, meaning if you’re out and about on a busy day and need a refresh, this is perfect.

The Must Have SPF

SPF is one of those things I always knew I really should be including in my day to day skincare routine but only got in the habit of doing so as of late. Even though the Irish weather in all its doom and gloom can be misleading, those harmful UVA and UVB rays can still peek through the clouds and penetrate the skin. Image, while on the slightly more expensive side, are one of my favourite skincare brands. They offer a range of SPFs from matte to tinted, and they are lightweight and quickly absorbed by the skin meaning they don’t interfere with your makeup.
