Ohhh, catch us being all American with our “drugstore” reference!
Unless you live under a rock and have no access to YouTube, we’re pretty sure that you know what we mean.
We’re rounding up the best budget beauty buys by sharing THE BEST drugstore dupes that you have to add to your makeup shopping list RN…
This isn’t an exact dupe; the wet n wild one is a highlighter and the Charlotte Tilbury one is more of a primer, but both products have a doe-foot applicator and give a lovely glow-y finish. The wet n wild Hello Halo Liquid Highlighter is fab mixed with foundation or used to highlight your cheekbones.
We spoke about the Revolution Concealer before. It’s long been lauded as a great dupe for the famed Tarte Shape Tape Concealer which isn’t available in Ireland BUT we’ve tried both and we actually kinda prefer the Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer. This is great if you have some seriously dark under-eye circles or need to conceal a particular nasty, red spot.
Iconic London’s famed Illuminator is adored by beauty influencers – no wonder it’s called Iconic! But the Catrice Light Correction Serum Primer is so similar! Perfect for adding a bronze glow!
Sleek MakeUp Brow Kit, €9.95
Everybody goes mad for eyebrow pencils, but we love a good wax and powder! We adore the Benefit – ‘Brow Zings’ Eyebrow Shaping Kit but the Sleek MakeUp Brow Kit is the EXACT same! It also comes in a selection of colours!
NYX Epic Ink Eyeliner, 10.95
Some people think eyeliner is eyeliner, but say blasphemy! We need a good eyeliner that applies well, dries matte and stays on ALL day. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner’ Liquid Eyeliner ticks all those boxes, but with a lot of drama sounding the brand lately we were ready to move on. We managed to find a cheaper alternative in the NYX Epic Ink Eyeliner. Yay!
Stila’s Kitten eyeshadow is one of the nicest eyeshadows ever made. Fact! But €17 is a lot for one single eyeshadow. Which is why we were so excited when we realised that the essence Eyeshadow in “morning glory” is an exact drugstore dupe of Kitten! Take a look at our makeup tutorial using it!
A lot of brands try to create drugstore makeup dupes and not all succeed. We’ve seen a ton of eyeshadow palettes that try to be Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette but don’t come close. Carter Beauty Warm Velvet Eyeshadow Palette came for Modern Renaissance and may have outdone it! There are similar shades and some extra ones too!
Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist, $48 (US only)
L’Oreal Shake & Glow Dew Mist, €12.99
The Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist is another thing that’s super popular on YouTube, but not available in Ireland. Fear not though, the L’Oreal Shake & Glow Dew Mist does the same job for a fraction of the cost, and you don’t need your passport!
Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in “Rosy Future”
After matte lipstick ruled for so long, we are super excited to see the re-birth of the lipgloss! And no one does it better than Fenty! Well, maybe Revlon because their Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in “Rosy Future is super similar!
PS… Fake It Mascara, €3
We absolutely adore the Penneys PS… mascara at missy.ie. We may have beyond devastated that Smokey Lash was discontinued, but we’ve made room in our hearts for Fake It. It’s the EXACT same as Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, packaging and all! Seriously, you’re mad to spend more that €3 on mascara when there’s such high-quality products like this available!
