D.I.Y Acne Beating Face Masks

Acne, most of us have had an experience with it and it ain’t fun! There are number of things you can do to help beat acne, one of those being face masks! We have found three acne fighting face masks that are super simple and easy to make in the comfort of your own home! Have a look at the recipes below and give them a go. Say good bye and good riddance to your acne!

Anti Acne Turmeric and Honey Mask

This one is super simple! Exactly what it says in the title, the only ingredients you will need for this one are turmeric and honey! Turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory which helps reduce the inflammation. Honey fights off the infection as it is anti bacterial and anti microbial. Honey also prevents future break outs as it clears the skin of any harmful bacteria that are present.

Simply mix together…

  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon honey and


Apply to a clean, dry face and leave on your skin for 10 – 15 minutes.

Apply this mask twice weekly.

Tea Tree Oil Mask

Say hello to glowing, acne free skin with this tea tree oil mask! Tea tree oil is great at warding off acne and preventing any more break outs as it is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral.

You will need:

  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 teaspoons tea tree oil 
  • 1 tablespoon natural yogurt
  1. Start by mixing the honey and tea-tree oil together.
  2. Mix in the tablespoon of yogurt
  3. Apply it to your face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes
  4. Rinse off with luke-warm water

Aim to apply it every second day, for optimal results.

Avocado and Lemon Acne Spot Treatment

Your skin will love you for this one!  Acne doesn’t stand a chance against this combined army of avocado, lemon and honey! This one is more of a spot treatment but if you have large areas of acne on your face, you can place it over the area to calm down and rid the area of acne.

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey
  • Half a lemon
  1. Mix up the avocado
  2. Mix in the honey and squeezed juice of the half lemon
  3. Apply on to spots  or over large areas of acne.
  4. Leave for 5 – 10 minutes (preferably at night as well due to the photosensitivity of the lemon!)

For best results do this every evening until you reach your desired result!
