Bad news witches, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been cancelled by Netflix.

The popular supernatural drama starring Kiernan Shipka has been axed, with its upcoming fourth season to be the last, Netflix has announced.

Speaking about the cancellation of the Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said: “Working on this show has been an incredible honour from day one. The cast, beginning with Kiernan as everyone’s favourite teen witch, has been an absolute joy.

“I am beyond thankful to the crew, writers, editors, assistants, and everyone for pouring so much love into this dark dream of a show.

“I’m also grateful to our partners at Netflix, Warner Bros, Berlanti Television and Archie Comics for letting us tell the story we wanted to tell, the way we wanted to tell it. We can’t wait for everyone to see part four.”

Kiernan also commented on the news sharing a post on Instagram last night.

No officially reason was given for the cancellation, but it wasn’t entirely surprising either.

The show struggled to find it’s feet after the initial buzz over the reboot in 2018 died down. The show tried to piggy-back off the success of Riverdale without actually establishing a proper connection between the two. A cross-over was always teased, but whether we will get that now remains to be seen.

The cancellation of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comes after Katy Keene, the other Riverdale, spin-off starring Lucy Hale was cancelled after only one season.

The final part of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is expected to air later in 2020 on Netflix.
