If You Haven’t Watched Enola Holmes Yet Then What Are You Doing???

Team Missy

If you’re looking for something great to watch this weekend, Netflix have you sorted…again! This week Enola Holmes was released on Netflix and if you haven’t seen it yet, you are missing out!

Over 130 years after the world’s most famous detective made his 1887 debut in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s A Study in Scarlet, comes a new mystery-adventure about another brilliant member of the Holmes family for a modern generation of armchair sleuths, starring Millie Bobby Brown from Stranger Things.

Enola Holmes introduces the world to (yes, you’ve deduced correctly) Enola Holmes — Sherlock’s bright, resourceful, spirited younger sister and a budding young detective in her own right.

What Is Enola Holmes About?

Set in England, 1884 – a world on the brink of change. On the morning of her 16th birthday, Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown) wakes to find that her mother (Helena Bonham Carter) has disappeared, leaving behind an odd assortment of gifts but no apparent clue as to where she’s gone or why.

After a free-spirited childhood, Enola suddenly finds herself under the care of her brothers Sherlock and Mycroft, both set on sending her away to a finishing school for “proper” young ladies. Refusing to follow their wishes, Enola escapes to search for her mother in London. But when her journey finds her entangled in a mystery surrounding a young runaway Lord (Louis Partridge), Enola becomes a super-sleuth in her own right, outwitting her famous brother as she unravels a conspiracy that threatens to set back the course of history.

Based on the beloved book series by Nancy Springer, ENOLA HOLMES is a dynamic new mystery-adventure that introduces the world’s greatest detective to his fiercest competition yet: his teenage sister. The game is afoot.

You’re Going To Be Obsessed With This

Enola Holmes had a lot to live up to, because let’s face it, the Sherlock Holmes serious is mega famous and there have been a lot of successful adaptions. Enola Homes could have easily been really silly, but’s it’s not. The story and the two mysteries are really engaging and keep you guessing. The dialog and direction is razor sharp and propels the movie that comes in at just over two hours long. Add in a great cast, fab period fashion and a fun soundtrack and you officially have a great movie. Also, let’s just say that Millie’s love interest in the movie also makes it very watchable!😍
