Irish Female Owned Businesses To Buy From

Team Missy

Ireland is full of female entrepreneurs, and it’s amazing to see.

Setting up and running your own business is hard work. Forget all the #girlbossing, it’s a full time hustle trying to bring your dream to life. That’s why it’s important to cheer on the women reaching for the moon.

Here’s some (but not all!) of our favourite Irish female owned Irish businesses…

Aoife McNamara

We could just get lost for hours scrolling Aoife McNamara’s beautiful Instagram feed; full of the dreamiest clothes we’ve ever laid our eyes on. Aoife McNamara is a luxury sustainable fashion brand that creates unique garments inspired by nature, to protect nature. Founded in 2019, Aoife McNamara reimagines the future of sustainable design by reconnecting the fashion industry to the natural world. The brand values creativity and beauty, people and planet, quality over quantity. It aims to create beauty not destroy it. A vist to Aoife’s cottage on Adare Main Street in Co. Limerick is a must.

Kalo

Starting a vegan leather accessory brand has been a dream of makeup artist Kate xxx. After making the conscious effort to minimise my consumption of fast fashion and animal-derived materials, Kate saw a gap in the market when I wanted a well-made, everyday handbag. She wanted faux leather bag that was not either a few hundred euro or cheap material that will fall apart after a few uses. Each of the vegan and sustainable bags are designed in Ireland with apple leather.

One of the big success stories in the Irish beauty industry over the past 5 years has been Sculpted by Aimee. Founded by makeup artist Aimee Connolly the brand has gone from strength to strength launching numerous makeup bag staples. Our faves? It would be hard to pick, but we love the concealers and the new Hyda Tint.
