Selena Gomez & Gracie Abrams Drop ‘Call Me When You Break Up’ – And We’re Obsessed!

Team Missy

Pop girls, assemble! Selena Gomez and Gracie Abrams have just dropped their new song Call Me When You Break Up, and it’s the fun pop anthem we didn’t know we needed. The track is part of Gomez’s upcoming collaborative album with her fiancé Benny Blanco, I Said I Love You First, which lands on March 21. If this song is anything to go by, we’re in for an emotional rollercoaster!

The Meaning Behind Call Me When You Break Up

If you’ve ever found yourself holding onto hope for a situationship (we’ve all been there), then this song is about to hit you right in the feels. The lyrics capture that bittersweet longing for someone who’s moved on but still lingers in your mind. Selena and Gracie’s voices blend perfectly as they plead, “We’re so meant for each other, I mean, God, when will you wake up?”

The track opens with a voicemail message before Selena softly sings: Call me when you break up/ I want to be the first one on your mind when you wake up/ I miss the way we’d stay up/ We’d talk about forever while I’m taking off my makeup.

Relatable? Unfortunately, yes.

A Casual Yet Iconic Music Video

The video for Call Me When You Break Up is super chill but still iconic. Filmed selfie-style, Selena and Gracie sing along in a hotel room and on a bed, giving us major bestie karaoke night vibes. No over-the-top production, just pure emotions and a killer song.

Gracie actually performed the song live first on tour in Hamburg, Germany, giving fans an exclusive sneak peek before the official release. We love a queen who treats her fans right!

Selena’s First Album in Four Years

Selena’s last full album, Rare, came out in 2020 (which feels like forever ago), so this new project is long overdue. I Said I Love You First is a collab album with her fiancé Benny Blanco, and it’s being described as a soundtrack to their love story. Romance era unlocked!

In an interview, Selena revealed that making the album was a completely different experience for her. Instead of heading to a traditional studio, she and Benny worked on the songs in a house, just vibing and creating organically.

“I definitely didn’t feel any sort of pressure,” she shared. “It sort of fell into place with a lot of hard work and love.”

What’s Next for Selena & Gracie?

With Call Me When You Break Up already on repeat, we’re counting down the days until March 21. The newly engaged couple, Selena and Benny, announced the album last week, following the release of the lead single Scared of Loving You.

And we are counting down the days until Gracie arrives on Irish shores for her sold out Dublin concert!

One thing’s for sure—Selena Gomez and Gracie Abrams are a dream duo, and if they ever want to collab again, we’ll be right here, waiting by the phone… just like in the song.
