It looks like Taylor Swift is currently in Ireland!
Over the weekend Taylor posted pictures to her Instagram in celebration of her Grammy Award-winning album folklore turning one. In the post she revealed that she was making the original orchestra version of the lakes available to fans (you can listen to it now on steaming services or here). BUT some eagle-eyed Irish fans noticed that the foot bridge and beach behind her looked very familiar; because the pictures were taken in Donegal.
The beauty spot on the Fanad peninsula was recently named by travel publisher Lonely Planet as one Ireland’s best beaches to visit.
If you’re wondering why Taylor has graced us with a visit (beyond the fact at Ireland is a beaut of a country!) her boyfriend of 5 years, Joe Alwin, has been filming in Ireland for a number of months now on the adaptation of Sally Rooney’s Conversation With Friends. Previously there was speculation that Taylor was in Northern Ireland to visit Joe, but now we have solid proof that she’s here, or was here very recently during the heatwave.
From the snaps it seems likely that Joe took the pictures as they were both enjoy a stroll on the beach with coffees.
Check out the pictures below…
Conversations With Friends has been filming in and around Belfast for a number of weeks now and Joe was also recently spotted filming on the street in Dublin. There’s no word on if the show was filming in Donegal, which would explain why Taylor and Joe were there. Or they may have gone there to visit the area themselves. So basically, every place in Ireland should be on Taylor watch for a potential sighting!
Did someone say road trip to Donegal?
