Do you love writing, social media, and everything digital? Are you the person your friends come to for a book recommendation, or the one who already has three articles’ worth of opinions on the latest TV drama? This one’s for you.
We’re looking for two interns to join the missy.ie team this autumn – an Editorial Intern and a Book Club Intern. Both are brilliant opportunities to get real, hands-on experience in Irish digital media, build a genuine portfolio, and get your name (and your byline) out there.
Editorial Intern
You’ll write 1-2 missy.ie articles a week — covering the stuff our readers actually care about, from beauty and fashion to TV, movies, health and relationships — plus one piece of supporting social content a week to go with it.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has a confident, distinctive writing voice and isn’t afraid to pitch their own ideas
- Is genuinely into pop culture and teen topics — it shows in what you write, not just what you say about yourself
- Can use Canva independently
- Is happy working to their own deadlines, with regular check-ins rather than someone looking over your shoulder
Book Club Intern
You’ll help lead our Reading Society coverage — one book listicle a week (best reads, hidden gems, “if you loved X, try Y”) plus two pieces of book-related social content.
This one’s especially suited to someone who reads widely in YA and teen fiction and might be eyeing up a career in publishing, journalism or media — it’s a genuine taste of what that world looks like.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Reads widely and has real opinions on it — the good, the bad, and the overhyped
- Can turn their taste into content other teens actually want to read
- Can use Canva independently
- Is happy working to their own deadlines, with regular check-ins rather than someone looking over your shoulder
What you’ll get
Whichever role you go for, you’ll get one-to-one mentoring from the missy.ie team, training in writing, editing and content creation, real published bylines, and a genuine portfolio to show for it by the end of your 12 weeks.
Both roles are fully remote (so you can be based anywhere in Ireland), run for 12 weeks, and take roughly 3-5 hours a week. They’re unpaid, but we think what you’ll walk away with more than makes up for it — training, mentoring, published work, and a portfolio that actually means something.

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a short trial task before final offers go out.
