Which CeraVe Moisturiser Is Best For Your Skin Type?
CeraVe has been a popular brand for years, but it just feels like you can’t escape it lately! It’s all over TikTok and a prominent feature in any self-respecting shelfie.
It’s a great brand, that works and it’s affordable. The only problem? They actually have a really strong offering in terms of different products. That’s great in one way, but when you’re stood in a pharmacy trying to decide which one is best for your skin, it can feel like a lot.
So, we gathered all the info that you need to know about the different CeraVe moisturisers, and which one is perfect for your skin needs…
Here’s which CeraVe Moisturiser you should be using…
If you need a day time moisturiser…
The CeraVe AM Facial Moisturising Lotion SPF 25 is for you!
We will continue to preach about how important it is to use an SPF every, single day.
Developed with dermatologists, CeraVe AM Facial Moisturising Lotion with SPF 25 is a daily lightweight moisturising lotion for the face. Specially formulated to protect the skin barrier with 3 essential ceramides and MVE technology to provide instant and long lasting hydration. Hyaluronic Acid helps to retain the skin’s natural moisture.
Because it’s non-comedogenic this will not clog your pores.
It’s also one of the best value SPF moisturisers on the market coming in at €13.99. If you don’t have an SPF in your skincare collection, start with this one.
If you need a night time moisturiser…
The CeraVe PM Facial Moisturising Lotion is for you.
As you obviously don’t need SPF protection as you sleep at night, there’s no need to have a moisturiser with SPF in it.
This is good for normal to dry skin types.
If you have very dry skin…
The CeraVe Moisturising Lotion is for you!
Developed with dermatologists, the lightweight, non-greasy formula of the CeraVe Moisturising Lotion helps to protect the skin’s natural barrier with three essential ceramides and MVE technology to provide daily instant and long-lasting hydration.
This is also fragrance free, so it’s great if you have sensitive skin which usually goes hand-in-hand with very dry skin – go figure!
This is a good one for night time if you have very dry skin.
And remember that if you are going to use it as a daytime moisturiser that you need a separate SPF!
Let’s Talk About CeraVe’s Body Moisturisers
CeraVe don’t just do facial moisturisers – they also do body moisturisers! Here’s how to know which CeraVe body moisturiser to use…
If you have dry, rough or bumpy skin…
The CeraVe SA Smoothing Cream with Salicylic is for you.
There’s nothing to say that you can’t put this on your face, I just wouldn’t. Unlike the other CeraVe moisturisers formulated for the face this is not non-comedogenic, which mean it can clog your pores and cause breakouts.
I’m a big fan of Salicylic Acid but you can overdo it every easily and it can cause a lot of harm to your skin. I swear by the CeraVe Salicylic Acid Cleanser, but that’s enough SA. To use a moisturiser with Salicylic Acid would just be too much.
BUT I do really like this moisturiser for the body. It makes your skin feel so, so smooth. It’s suitable to use if you have keratosis pilaris, which is that bumpy “chicken skin” on the backs of your arms. This gets rid of that straight away.
I will say that I wasn’t a fan of it the few times I applied it at night. It’s not that it’s sticky, it just didn’t feel nice against my sheets when I got into bed. But I found it fine to use in the morning when getting dressed, so maybe that’s just me.
Definitly a great one to try if you have dry, bumpy skin on your arms or legs. And it would be ideal to use the night before tanning. I would not use it everyday, just once or twice a week.
Stay well away if you have sensitive or cracked skin!
FYI It’s available in a 177ml or a 340g.
