The youngest member of Team Ireland, 16-year-old swimmer Grace Davison, made her Olympic debut this year in the 4x100m freestyle relay. While the team missed out on a medal and finished eighth, Davison is definitely one to watch and has said in interviews that she is hoping to use this experience to prepare herself to compete individually in LA in 2028.

Mona McSharry

Mona McSharry, a 23-year-old swimmer from Sligo, brought home the first medal for Ireland at the Paris Olympics when she came third in the 100m breaststroke.

Rhasidat Adeleke

At on 21 years old Rhasidat Adeleke is a sporting superstar. Born in Dublin, Rhasidat holds national athletics records for 100m, 200m and 400m indoors and out, and recently won her first Diamond League meeting in Monaco. She is  the fastest woman from Ireland, ever, and is still a rising star heading to Paris 2024. One to watch for sure!

Alanna Fitzpatrick: Rugby Sevens

At 19, Alanna Fitzpatrick has already made a name for herself as one of the youngest rugby players to represent Ireland at  senior international level. Last summer, she made her Irish debut in the European Sevens Championship Series. This year, she’s taking the field with the Women’s Rugby Sevens team at her first Olympics.

Daina Moorehouse: Boxing

Daina Moorehouse is 22 years old and has been boxing since she was 11. Daina has spoken about how she used to wake up at 6 a.m. every day so she could train before school, and all that hard work has definitely paid off this year as she qualified for her first Olympic Games.

Sophie O’Sullivan: Athletics

While this is 22-year-old Sophie O’Sullivan’s first time competing at the games, she is no stranger to the Olympics; Sophie is the daughter of Olympic medallist Sonia O’Sullivan. Sophie is definitely one to watch this year in the 1500m, as her personal best places her fifth on the Irish all-time list, only three places behind her mum!

Madison & Michaela Corcoran: Canoe Slalom

The Corcoran twins also have Olympic roots; their father Mike, originally from Glasnevin, competed in the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games! Born in Maryland, USA, the 21-year-old twins will represent Ireland in the Canoe Slalom.

We have so much to be inspired about looking at all the atheathis competing in Team Ireland for the 2024 Paris Olympics. We can’t wait to cheer on the team and see what they achieve at these games and beyond.
