5 Free LGBTQ+ Events For Young People In Dublin This Summer

Team Missy

Pride may be over, but it’s important to keep that energy the rest of the year as well.

Belong To, the national organisation for LGBTQ+ young people in Ireland, have announced a summer programme of workshops and activities in Dublin City Centre. Here are five free activities that you can attend this July and August to make friends, build skills, and have fun.

  1. Wellness Week (15th – 19th July)

The first of the five events is all about self care and wellbeing. Hosted in partnership with Jigsaw, this event focuses on discovering how to take care of yourself and your mental health.

  1. Sports Week (22nd – 26th July)

This event encourages you to get up and get active with other LGBTQ+ young people. There will be loads of fun activities – meaning there will be something for everyone to get involved in.

  1. Sustainability Week (29th July – 2nd August)

This event is all about sustainability and climate justice. With the help of youth workers, guest speakers, and other young people, you will explore these themes, and brainstorm ways that we can all make a difference.

  1. The Abbey Theatre x Belong To – Theatre Week (12th – 16th August)

The annual LGBTQ+ Youth Drama Programme is back again, with workshops on improvisation, drama skills, scene development, and then finally the staging of an original theatre piece.

  1. Get the Facts, Stay Safe (19th – 23rd August)

The final week of activities focuses on keeping you safe and informed, by teaching you all about important topics like sex, alcohol, and drugs.
