High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Has Been Renewed For A Third Season

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series has officially been renewed for a third season! The Disney+ show has been a huge success, so it’s really no surprise that the cast will be back for a third season soon.

The Announcement

Disney+ released the video below on their Twitter. The video reads ‘There is a rumor… so mind-blowing it must be true… High School Musical: The Musical: The Series… The social media announcement… Season 3 confirmed! You can scream now!” and is interspersed with flashbacks of the last 2 seasons.

What will Season 3 be about?

Whilst the first two seasons have featured East High as the backdrop to the show, season 3 will see them finish up a school year at school, and head to a sleep-away camp. Expect campfires, summer romances and curfew free nights a-plenty! Speaking to Deadline, creator and executive-producer Tim Federle, said “We are overjoyed to be heading to the great outdoors for season three, and grateful to our partners and friends at Disney+ for their continued support of our next-generation Wildcats.”

When will Season 3 of HSMTMTS start filming?

Seasons 1 and 2 filmed in Salt Lake City, but Season 3 will see the cast and crew heading to Los Angeles to film. It’s being reported that filming will begin towards the end of this year.

When will HSMTMTS be released?

Disney hasn’t released an official release date for the third season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, however we’re hoping it will be about a year long wait until the third season.
