How To Make Money As A Teen
As a teen, the summer is the only time you can work full time and make money without having to worry about fitting work around school. However, this summer fewer businesses are hiring, which means you may find it harder to find a job.
But don’t worry, here are a few ways you can make money as a teen!
Sell your old clothes
Turn your usual wardrobe clear out into cash by reselling your unwanted clothes. You could sell them on a reselling app, such as Depop or eBay – make sure you read our guide to Depop first!
Or you could sell them to a local vintage store who will buy them from you by the pound.
If you have any designer bags you don’t use anymore, you could sell them to an online vintage store, like Siopaella.
Sell your art
If you are artistically inclined and enjoy creating art, why not make money from it? Websites like Redbubble allow you to sell your designs on items such as t-shirts, stickers, pillows, etc., and they take care of all the printing and shipping for you!
Pet Sitting/ Dog walking
Not as many people are going out at the moment, meaning babysitting jobs may be scarce. But if you are an animal lover, you could offer pet sitting or dog walking services to people who are back at the office. This is a great way to help a neighbour or family friend out, whilst making money. Plus you get to hang out with animals all day!
Get Crafty
If you love crafts, such as making jewellery or designing/ upcycling clothes, why not make some to sell? You could sell your creations on Depop, or open an Etsy shop.
Give People Grinds
If you excel in a certain subject, why not help someone with it? It’s super easy to do grinds over Zoom or Google Meets, or if it’s a nice day you could do them outside. I’m sure your parents know someone who has a kid you could help.
Start A YouTube Channel
If you enjoy filming videos, and suddenly have lots of free time this is perfect for you. You could make videos on any topic you are interested, such as fashion, beauty, books, movies, gaming, etc. Who knows, you could be the next big YouTuber!
If you’re still looking for a part-time job, here are some websites you can use to see who’s hiring:
Job Websites
These websites are used by businesses to advertise jobs. They are super easy to use and are constantly being updated with new opportunities.
This is an app/ website where you can upload your experience, make professional contacts, and are used by businesses to advertise jobs.
This is one the I myself even forget about. Lot’s of companies (especially small local businesses) will announce job vacancies on their Facebook accounts, or certain groups.
