The Best Fashion Looks From The Met Gala 2019

Team Missy

Last night was the annual Met Gala and it was one huge fashion parade!

The Gala celebrates the launch of the newest Fashion Exhibition in the Metropolitan Museum of Art , AKA The Met. And yes, it’s the same Met that Blair Waldorf ruled as Queen B! Tickets for the Met gala reportedly cost an outrageous $35,000 and you must be personally selected to attend by Anna Wintour, the Editor-In-Chief of Vogue Magazine.

The thing about the Met Gala is that the dresses aren’t really supposed to be wearable; it’s about the theme. This year’s theme was “Camp”. The idea was to celebrate fashion being out there, fun and a bit tacky. When you think of the clothes in that context some people really nailed it.

Here are a few of our favourite looks from the Met Gala 2019…

Hailey Bieber

When I first saw Hayley’s outfit I really didn’t like it. Cheap pink colour? Check. Bad tan? Check. Tacky thong showing? Check. But within the Met Gala 2019 theme she totally nailed it. Her makeup was flawless BTW!

Harry Styles

Be still our beating heart! Harry Styles was one of the Co-Chairs of the Met Gala 2019 and we love how he really embraced the “Camp” theme. Harry worse a ruffled jumpsuit by Gucci and even accessorised with rings, earrings and nail polish. “A” for effort, Harry!

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas

What a week for the new Mr and Mrs Jonas! After tying the knot in a surprise Vegas wedding after the Billboard Awards, Sophie and Joe took their love to the Met Gala 2019. We loved how they co-ordinated their look in these Louis Vuitton numbers.

Kylie and Kendall Jenner

Kendall and Kylie Jenner walked the carpet together in coordinating feathered looks. Kylie opted for a lavender Versace number, while Kendall’s look came in nearly-neon orange. Both looked like they should be preforming in Vegas, so they really got the “Camp” theme, unlike Kim K and Kanye West….

Zendaya

Zendaya did a whole Cinderella routine on the red-carpet. It was the most extra thing we’ve ever seen, but we LOVED it!

Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart

IRL Riverdale couple Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart made an appearance at the Met together for a second year on a row. Their looks were fun, but we can’t help but think that Lili looks like Frankenstein’s Wife…

Lucy Boynton

We love how Bohemian Rhapsody star Lucy Boynton matched her hair colour to her dress – that is dedication!

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus is usually known for really playing with the Met Gala theme, but I don’t know if she really got it right this year. I liked the outfit in general, but it didn’t really scream “Camp” to me.

Shawn Mendes

Just going to leave this picture of the beaut Shawn Mendes here…

Gigi Hadid

I think that Gigi got the theme, but I would have liked to have seen her be more fun and playful on the red-carpet; she was way too serious.

Charli XCX

Charli XCX must have gotten the memo that neon colours are in. We just adore the colour of this!

Cardi B

Cardi B made a major entrance in blood-red Thom Browne dress with a massive padded train, yards of feathers. UNREAL!

Emma Roberts

We loved Emma Roberts tiered coral tulle gown and her delicate flower crown is giving us serious ideas for the Debs!

Gemma Chan

Crazy Rich Asians star Gemma Chan wore Tom Ford which was a really big deal. Tom Ford usually only picks one famous lady to dress and this year he personally chose Gemma. He was also her date!

Camila Mendes and Charles Melton

*sigh* how gorgeous do Camila Mendes and Charles Melton look together???

Janelle Monae

Janelle Monae proved that you can never have too many hats!

Saoirse Ronan

Our very own Saoirse Ronan rocked Gucci, which was definitely one of our favourite looks from the evening.

Regina Hall

Pastel hair was a major trend of the tonight. Regina Hall paired her pale pink dye job with a sparkling brocade off-the-shoulder gown.

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga was one of the Co-Chairs of the 2019 Met Gala and she delivered when it came to the theme. Gaga literally stripped off to reveal FOUR outfits on the red-carpet.

Madelaine Petsch

Tinker Bell, is that you? We’re not too sure what Cheryl Blossom would have to say about this look, but we liked how fun and summery it looked.

Taylor Hill

Victoria’s Secret model Taylor Hill channeled old Hollywood in a petal-pink satin gown, plush feathered boa, and lots of diamonds.

Yara Shahidi

We were so happy to see Yara score an invite to the Met Gala, we feel like we’ll be seeing a lot of her once The Sun is Also A Star comes out in August.

Darren Criss

Former Glee star, Darren Criss, gave off serious Boy George vibes (ask your parents!) and Boy George is probably the campest person ever, so well done Darren!
