Top 10 Movies To Watch When You Just Need A Break
Watching a movie, by definition is taking a break from reality and inserting yourself into the story. However, watching certain movies can be a bit of a stressful experience and sometimes you just want to watch a movie that will allow you to just chill out while watching it.
For me there are certain movies that just give me good vibes, for one reason or another, and allow me to relax while I watch them. So I’ve combined this (slightly random) list of the movies that I watch when I need a break from reality.
In my opinion, there is a movie on this list for everyone, and a few of my choices may surprise you.
The Social Network
Ok, I’ll admit that a movie about the creation of facebook may not seem like the perfect relaxation movie, but there’s something about it that puts me at ease. It has an amazing soundtrack, that I actually use as my study playlist, and the soothing colours make this a great chill out movie (plus it’s my favourite of all time). You can watch it on Netflix!
Fantastic Mr Fox
This may seem like another weird choice but the visuals of this movie are super cool, and since it’s based on the children’s book the plot isn’t too hard to follow. It’s also the perfect Autumn movie and is a great movie to watch on a rainy day!

10 Things I Hate About You
I’m literally obsessed with this movie, it’s almost unhealthy. It’s the perfect 2000s style inspo, and it’s full of humour and a little bit of romance. It’s actually based on the Shakespeare play “The Taming Of The Shrew”, so you can impress your english teacher with your Shakespeare knowledge after watching!

Little Women
Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of Little Women is probably the most relaxing movie I’ve ever watched. Between the amazing plot and Timothee Chalamet as Laurie, it’s a super easy watch and it’s perfect for the whole family. You can watch it on Sky Demand or on iTunes.
Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants
If you love Gossip Girl and Gilmore Girls, then this is a movie you have to see! It’s the cutest story of 4 friends and a magic pair of jeans (what more could you want). It stars Blake Lively and Alexis Bledel and you can watch it on Netflix and Amazon Prime (plus there’s a sequel)!
You’ve Got Mail
This is more of a Christmas movie, but if you’re like me and watch Christmas movies all year round it’s the perfect chill out movie. This is a super cute love story set in New York and features the most stunning book shops!

Bride Wars
This has been my favourite movie since I was 6 so of course I find it an easy watch. It’s absolutely hilarious and has a very simple plot which makes it an easy watch. It’s also perfect if you love weddings, like me!
La La Land
I think we can all agree that this is by far the most beautiful movie ever made, and the amazing sound track and colourful dance numbers are so satisfying to watch. It’s also a great movie to watch when you need a cry or just need a bit of romance!
