The Gossip Girl Reboot Has Been Postponed Until 2021 – cue our sad face

Team Missy

Attention Upper East Siders, we have some bad news in regards to the upcoming Gossip Girl reboot; the show has been postponed to next year. Yes, that is the sound of us sobbing!
Gossip Girl joins a long list of TV shows and movies impacted due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The show was scheduled to begin production earlier this year with it set to air in the autumn/winter of 2020. The new date is still to be confirmed, but it’s safe to say GG won’t be gracing our screens until at least 2021.
HBO Max chief content officer Kevin Reilly told Vulture, ‘They hadn’t even started production yet; they were in pre-production and ready to roll.’
Reilly offered no timetable for when the show might start filming, but even if shooting commences in mid- to late- summer— a target timetable being talked about by many studios—it now won’t premiere until 2021.

The cast of the new Gossip Girl reboot, now scheduled to premier in 2021.

Now that the Gossip Girl reboot has been postponed it looks like we’ll just have to watch the original GG again to get our Upper East Side fix until 2021. It’s a task we are willing to take on.
Are you disappointed that the Gossip Girl reboot has been postponed?
