Veronica Murphy

We are back for another week of 10 Questions! Tipperary woman Grá Daly is a Dublin-based influencer who is known for finding budget-friendly things to do and places to go in and around Dublin. From lunches under €10, to unique date ideas, Grá has it all covered! At a time when the cost of living is steadily increasing, her budget-friendly recommendations are exactly the type of content we are in need of.

We wanted to catch up with her to ask her this weeks 10 questions…

1. What was the first thing you did when you woke up this morning?

Coffee and a scroll on my phone, I’m desperate for scrolling first thing in the morning!

2. What is your go-to karaoke song?

At the minute, I think it is Unwritten by Natasha Beddingfield.

3. TikTok or Instagram?

This is difficult. TikTok will always be my first love but I feel on Instagram there’s more of a personal connection with people! I’ll say TikTok as it’s my first love.

4. Last book you read?

Gosh, I’m not a great reader. I’m actually dyslexic so I can find reading more of a chore sometimes. But I did read the last ‘Oh My God What a Complete Aisling’ by Emer McLysaght and Sarah Breen. The font in all of this series is brilliant for me and it was a joy to read!

5. What destination is on your bucket list?

We always sing the Beach Boys Kokamo in our house and I’d love to go to all the places they mention in it, so Aruba, Jamaica, Bermuda, and The Bahamas.

6. Last series you binge-watched?

I have certain comfort shows on repeat constantly, like Modern Family, Friends, The Office, and Brooklyn 99. I finished One Day recently and cried my eyes out! I’m buzzing for the new series of Bridgerton, I know that will be watched in a day!

7. Something you want to achieve in 2024?

Finishing my Masters. I am in my last year of my Masters to become a qualified Secondary School teacher. My subjects will be Politics and Society, CSPE, and SPHE. I don’t think I will teach immediately after finishing the Masters, but I will be happy to have it in my back pocket.

8. Quote or advice you live by?

“You can’t avoid the waves in life, but you can learn to surf” has stuck with me for years!

9. Biggest ick/pet peeve?

I think lack of manners is a big one.

10. Best thing about your job

The community and friends I have made through it. I think it can be difficult to make friends in your mid-twenties, but this has given me a whole new lease of life and introduced me to so many amazing people!
